Future Jobs and Skills Trends: How the “Be Ready” Initiative Prepares Students and Graduates for Change

In today’s fast-changing world of work, the latest global reports such as Deloitte’s Human Capital Trends emphasize that the future demands new capabilities, especially flexibility, continuous learning, and technological skills.

The report notes that around 50% of jobs will require new skills in the next few years, and more than 60% of employees will need reskilling within five years. It also highlights the need to build work environments that support ongoing learning to keep up with these rapid changes.

Additionally, 75% of organizations report that hybrid work models have become a permanent feature, increasing reliance on collaborative technologies that demand new human capabilities.

In this context, the “Be Ready” initiative, as an executive mechanism of the presidential “Alliance and Development” initiative, plays a central role in preparing one million Egyptian university students and recent graduates. Through University Career Development Centers, we equip young people with the skills needed for future jobs, such as:

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving
  • Digital and technical skills
  • Teamwork and effective communication
  • Continuous learning and adaptability

We also strengthen partnerships with the private sector to ensure that training aligns with real labor market needs, by offering practical, hands-on programs that empower graduates to start their careers confidently and effectively.

Through this effort, we believe that building a new generation of innovative, adaptable talent is key to achieving Egypt’s Vision 2030 for sustainable development and meeting the demands of the future economy.
